The Choice Before Us

Over the past several months, I have knocked on doors, attended forums, answered difficult questions, and listened to people throughout House District 50. Those conversations have reinforced why I entered this race and the question that will guide every decision I make:

Will this leave the next generation better off?

My wife and I are raising three young boys here. Like every parent, we want our children to inherit the freedom, opportunity, and sense of community that make Wyoming special. Preserving those things will require more than slogans. It will require serious, prepared, and principled leadership.

This election presents a clear choice about the kind of representation House District 50 deserves. I believe we need a representative who understands the issues, has a demonstrated record of service, can build effective coalitions, and is prepared to lead from the first day.

Wyoming faces consequential decisions about property taxes, government spending, education, healthcare, energy, public lands, and individual liberty. This is not a position in which someone should begin learning the issues after being elected.

My education, career, judicial experience, business background, and years of community service have prepared me for this work. As an attorney and former drug court judge, I have seen how government decisions affect families, employers, crime victims, local institutions, and individual constitutional rights. My service in local organizations has also taught me that lasting results come from listening, bringing people together, and remaining accountable to the people you serve.

That experience will matter in Cheyenne.

I support meaningful property-tax relief, but it must be accomplished responsibly. Property taxes support our schools, counties, municipalities, fire departments, and other local services. We can provide relief without creating new funding crises, shifting costs, or leaving future generations to pay for decisions made today.

I will defend the Second Amendment. Throughout my legal career, I have worked to restore and protect the rights of law-abiding citizens. I have earned an AQ rating from the NRA and an A rating and endorsement from Gun Owners of America because my commitment is demonstrated by my record—not simply by campaign promises.

I will also work to keep public lands public and accessible. My family hunts, fishes, and recreates on public land, and every animal I have harvested has been taken there. These lands are part of our heritage, our economy, and the Wyoming way of life. We can responsibly manage them while preserving public access for future generations.

I believe in strong local schools, educational choice, and putting parents at the center of their children’s education. My own children attend our public schools. The decisions affecting Wyoming students should be made as close to home as possible—not dictated by Washington or unnecessary state bureaucracy.

My campaign has earned support from various pro-gun groups, healthcare professionals, miners, contractors, realtors, attorneys, conservative organizations, and local community groups. These organizations represent different industries and do not agree on every issue. Their support demonstrates something important: I have done the work, understand the issues, and can build the coalitions necessary to deliver results for Park County.

Those endorsements were earned through my demonstrated understanding of the challenges facing Wyoming. Coalition-building is not a weakness. It is how effective legislators turn good principles into meaningful results.
At the same time, I will remain an independent voice. I will work with anyone who is committed to improving Wyoming, but I will not answer to a political faction, party organization, or outside interest. I will answer to the people of House District 50.

This election should be decided by who is prepared to study complicated issues, defend our shared principles, work constructively with others, and represent Park County effectively.

I am ready to do that work.

Wyoming can protect individual freedom while embracing personal responsibility. We can provide tax relief while maintaining essential local services. We can develop our energy resources and grow our economy while preserving the lands and way of life that make our state special. We can disagree without treating our neighbors as enemies.

That is the leadership I will bring to Cheyenne: principled, prepared, independent, and focused on results.

When I consider a vote in the Legislature, my guiding question will be the same one that led me into this race: Will this leave our children a freer, stronger, and more prosperous Wyoming?

Early voting is underway, and Election Day is August 18. I respectfully ask for your vote for Wyoming House District 50.
