Park County deserves a County Attorney who is prepared to lead on day one.

The County Attorney’s job is far more than prosecuting criminal cases. The office is responsible for advising the County Commissioners and county departments on Wyoming law, protecting the county’s legal interests, safeguarding taxpayer dollars, and making legal decisions that affect every citizen of Park County. There is no training period for those responsibilities. Experience matters because the people of Park County deserve a County Attorney who is ready from her first day in office.

I have the experience needed not only to prosecute, but also to advise county departments and the County Commissioners on Wyoming law. I have actively practiced law in Wyoming for 26 years. I have been a Wyoming resident since 1984, and I earned both my bachelor’s degree and my law degree from the University of Wyoming. I bleed brown and gold, and I will bring Wyoming values, Wyoming ethics, and Wyoming integrity to the leadership of the Park County Attorney’s Office.

Experience is more than the number of years someone has practiced law. It is the judgment developed after handling difficult cases, advising public officials, making decisions that affect victims and families, negotiating complex legal issues, and standing in courtrooms across Wyoming. That judgment cannot be learned overnight. It is earned one case, one difficult decision, and one courtroom at a time.

Park County taxpayers deserve to see their tax dollars used wisely. We should make better use of the resources we already have before spending money elsewhere. That includes using technology already available to law enforcement and the County Attorney’s Office to improve communication, reduce duplication, and increase efficiency. Good government means making every taxpayer dollar work harder.

Throughout my career, particularly as Deputy County Attorney in Powell, I have built strong working relationships with law enforcement, the Department of Family Services, county agencies, Crisis Intervention Services, CASA, Drug Court, and many other community partners. Those relationships matter because solving complex problems requires trust, communication, and leadership. For instance, Title 25 needs a thorough review and in order to have a good outcome, many partners will need to be at the table – our hospitals, jail, law enforcement, care providers, and more. I can bring those people together.

I care about people. Every one of them. I will always listen, even when I disagree. My office will always be accessible, transparent, and accountable to the people it serves. Respect, fairness, and accountability are not mutually exclusive.

What does 26 years of experience mean?

It means I have the breadth of experience to handle virtually any legal issue that comes before the County Attorney’s Office.

Court Experience:

• Practiced in 18 of Wyoming’s 23 counties and courts.
• Argued before the Wyoming Supreme Court.
• Practiced before the United States District Court for the District of Wyoming.
• Appeared before the Wind River Tribal Court.

Professional Experience:

• Prosecuting murders, aggravated vehicular homicides, sexual assaults, crimes against children, domestic violence, drug offenses, property crimes, animal cruelty and hoarding cases, and virtually every other category of criminal offense.
• Defending constitutional rights in federal and state criminal cases involving drug offenses, white-collar crime, sexual assaults, domestic violence, and other serious felony charges.
• Representing hospitals and defending physicians and other medical professionals.
• Representing the University of Wyoming by reviewing contracts and grants and advising university departments.
• Representing developers on zoning, planning, and land-use matters before municipalities.
• Appearing before city councils, the Wyoming Board of Medicine, and the Office of Administrative Hearings.
• Representing oil and gas operators on complex state and federal regulatory matters.

This depth of experience means I understand criminal prosecution, civil law, contracts, administrative law, government operations, and regulatory issues. Those are the skills the people of Park County deserve in their next County Attorney.
