Get Your Hands on Something!

“Get your hands on something!”  This simple phrase is an oilfield mantra that I’ve carried with me throughout my life.  Many of you will know it means “don’t just stand there, get in there and help!”  If the work is done, get a broom.  There is always something productive to do.

That’s why I’m running to represent Wyoming House District 50. I want to get my hands on the work of serving Wyoming and be your voice in the State Legislature. I’m running to represent the people of House District 50 – not any political organization, caucus, or special interest. My loyalty is to the people I serve, and I’ll work with anyone who brings good ideas that strengthen Wyoming, protect our freedoms, and reflect our Wyoming values.

It has been an honor to serve our communities through my business, Big Horn Basin Hearing. As an audiologist, I’ve had the privilege of helping people reconnect with their families, friends, and communities through better hearing. My profession has also given me the opportunity to advocate for hearing and speech issues with Wyoming’s U.S. Senators and Representative in Washington, D.C. Currently, I serve on Wyoming’s Board of Hearing Instrument Specialists and on several national professional boards. Those experiences have taught me how to listen, solve problems, and work with people who hold different viewpoints, qualities I believe are essential in public service.

Wyoming faces important decisions in the near future. Data centers, nuclear energy, rare earth mineral development, public land management, healthcare, education, and the future of our energy industry will all shape our state’s future. We need practical, conservative leadership that protects what makes Wyoming special while preparing responsibly for future opportunities.

Property tax relief must remain a top priority. It has been incredibly frustrating to have property taxes climb dramatically. No one should be taxed out of their home! Pursuing meaningful tax relief while placing reasonable limits on how quickly property tax assessments can increase is necessary.

Responsible economic diversification will create new opportunities while protecting the industries that have built our state. As electricity demand grows, Wyoming should ensure that our citizens receive a fair return from the power produced here, especially when much of that electricity is exported to other states. Those revenues can help modernize our electrical infrastructure and prepare Wyoming for future economic growth.

We will also need to be excellent stewards of our water.  Our ranchers, farmers, communities, wildlife, and downstream neighbors all depend on wise water management. As new industries seek to invest in Wyoming, we must carefully evaluate how our water resources are utilized so that future generations inherit the same opportunities we enjoy today.

Above all, I understand that a state representative works for the people. My profession has taught me that listening is a critical component of problem solving. I am listening to you, and will represent the people of House District 50 with integrity, common sense, and respect.

It would be a tremendous honor to serve the communities that have given so much to me. Whether your family has been here for generations or you’ve recently chosen Wyoming as your home, I want to earn your trust and your vote.

On August 18, I respectfully ask for your vote in the Republican primary. I’m ready to get my hands on something and wear out my work gloves for Wyoming!
