Brewgards Hits the Road with a Food Truck

Many people start a food truck to test the waters of the food industry. However, Brewgards has taken it the other direction and has expanded its popular restaurant with Brewgards Too – a food truck with the same great food. This allows the rest of the Bighorn Basin to enjoy their burgers, smoked goodness, and more without having to travel to Cody.

Purchasing the food truck from Pig and the Hog, they have reworked it and readied it for trips to Powell, Greybull, Basin, Riverton, Worland, and perhaps more. They will still work with events in Cody, but the focus is on bringing Brewgards to new locations.

Brewgards under the Dunlap’s Guidance

Luke, a Cody native, worked for 18 years in the oil fields, 12 of which were in North Dakota, and for 7 of those years, they ran their own oilfield service company. In 2023, when Brewgards came up for sale, he and his wife, Meagan, jumped at the chance to purchase the restaurant/bar/liquor store. In that time, they’ve worked to elevate the food by bringing in a 500 lb. smoker to create mouthwatering dishes.

The inside also got a facelift when they took over to include barnwood walls, live edge liquor shelves, more tables, bigger and better TV’s for sports viewing, fresh paint, a dedicated skill game area, top tier sound system, a stage and special lighting effects for performers and much more.

One year into the business, they began offering catering services for large and smaller events. Using their 500 lb. smoker, they recently catered the Wyoming Outdoorsmen Banquet for the second year in a row. The 600-person event featured their smoked prime rib. They are available to cater events of all sizes, from private parties and banquets to weddings and school functions.

The experience with catering events doesn’t stop at food. Luke has been a DJ and MC for events for over 15 years, specializing in weddings and banquets. You can also request DJ services and Mobile Bar Service. Brewgards is truly a one-stop shop for organizing your event.

Events at Brewgards

In addition, they host a variety of highly popular events, from the Summer Parking Lot Party to their amazing Black Friday Bingo night to charity fundraisers. They were among the first in town to fully partner with various non-profits to raise funds and continually seek ways to give back to the community.

This year, the Parking Lot Party will take place on the Fourth of July, starting at noon. Live music this year will be by the Cody Bartels Band from Tacoma, Washington, as well as by other local bands and artists. It will again include a cornhole tournament, smokehouse specials, distributor tastings, and more.

Whether you’re here in Cody or getting a taste of Brewgards from the food truck, Brewgards “Too”, there’s much to enjoy about this local gathering spot. Enjoy Taco Tuesdays, Smokehouse Thursdays (prime rib or other smoked meats), and Fish & Chips Fridays. On the weekends, enjoy karaoke, bingo, music bingo, and live music. Relax on Sundays with their Sunday Brunches as well.
