Winter Sunset on South Fork
“I was dragged to art galleries as a child until I learned to enjoy it.” This is my answer when people ask me where I gained my love of art. My parents began collecting art when I was in my early teens, and this exposure shaped my love of art.
I was drawn to watercolors as I learned to appreciate the variety of work in galleries we regularly visited. Over the years, I’ve dabbled in the actual medium, but I’ve yet to capture with the hand what my eye sees.
While developing my fine art photography, I often see the scenes I capture as watercolors. This prompted me to see what was available to turn my photos into digital photo watercolors. Using a combination of multiple software programs, a pen, and time, I’ve found a blend that allows me to present my work as the watercolors I see when releasing the shutter.
The images used to create Winter Sunset on South Fork were taken on a late winter afternoon drive along South Fork. As the sun set on that winter day and the colors began to show, my heart called to capture the moment. Multiple shots were taken to create a panorama photo.
