Watch Cody’s Fourth of July Parades Live This Year on the Irma Cams

Introducing: the Irma Cams! This week, the Park County Travel Council (PCTC) will test one of two new 24/7 live stream webcams installed at the Irma Hotel. One points down to 12th Street in front of the historic hotel. The other points to the intersection of 12th Street and Sheridan Avenue.

“The cameras will give those who might otherwise miss the Fourth of July parades and other events a chance to watch them, benefiting not only tourism, but our local community and all who love Cody,” said Katrina Southern, Marketing Director for PCTC.

Webcams have been a long-standing idea for PCTC, and following the recent success of working with the Cody Chamber of Commerce and the National Park Service to install webcams at the East Gate. In the past, downtown webcams existed, but fell by the wayside and it’s time to bring them back. Thanks to Nerd Nation’s donation of the cameras and time, as well as the Irma’s hosting the location, this is now a reality.

Testing for the Fourth of July Parades

While more work needs to be done to fully set them up, one camera is ready for an initial test for the parades on July 3rd and 4th. For this test, the feed will be a full live stream broadcast on this YouTube channel.

After the 4th, the webcam feed will come down for a short time while the final settings are put into place. PCTC will announce when they’re back up and running regularly, providing 24/7 streaming of downtown.
