Songwriter Show Guitars, Geysers and Grizzlies Returns
The Cody Theatre will once again be filled with the music of Kalyn Beasley as he returns with Guitars, Geysers and Grizzlies, an intimate songwriter show.
His first performance last March at the Cody Theatre sold out, and the audience gave a standing ovation at the end, showing their appreciation of the music and talent.
“I was overwhelmed with the reception. It was incredibly rewarding to play in my hometown and receive such a welcome.” Beasley said of the event.

Sharing the Stories and the Songs
This time he will be back performing his original music and sharing the stories and inspiration behind the songs. He also has a few new ones to share with the community.
The format is similar to popular songwriter showcases such as the Yellowstone Songwriter Festival, which inspired Beasley to create his own version of the concept in Cody.
He said the project aims to reinvigorate the songwriter festival concept locally, starting with small steps and building momentum over time. For this show, he will add further accompaniment. Special guest Jordan Smith will also join Kalyn on the stage.
“There’s a huge desire out here for people to listen to original music,” Beasley said.
A Different Kind of Live Music Experience
Unlike traditional bar shows, Beasley hopes to create a comfortable and intimate environment where audiences can sit back and listen closely to the music.
The venue will offer a full concession stand with adult beverages and snacks such as popcorn and candy.
Beasley said the event is designed to appeal to people who enjoy live music but prefer an earlier and quieter night out.
“These types of songwriter events have been growing in popularity,” he said. “We’re trying to provide a different form of entertainment.”
Kalyn plans to grow the event into a twice-yearly event. His long-term goal is to host similar shows regularly while bringing additional songwriters to the area.
A Regional Touring Musician
Beasley regularly performs throughout Wyoming, Montana, and Colorado. Over the years, he has played countless bar venues across the region, which he credits with helping him develop stage presence and live performance experience.
In Cody, however, he performs less frequently as he plays throughout the West. He has shared the stage with Chase Rice, Josh Turner, and Michael Martin Murphy as well as legendary songwriters Kostas, Skip Ewing, and James Dean Hicks. His life as a cowboy, rodeo hand, pilot, bookseller, and outdoorsman has provided him with a unique palette from which he paints his music.
Beasley released his fourth studio album “Ranchin’ Rich” in October 2025.
His music is also available on streaming platforms including Spotify. Follow the path of this talented, local musician.
