Local Lore: History of the Coe Family
Join us for a “Local Lore with Bob Richard” talk on Thursday, November 21 at noon in our Coe Auditorium, when Bob’s illustrated presentation explores the history of the Coe Family with stories and photographs. In this talk, Bob focuses on W.R. Coe and his son Robert Coe, who were very involved in and generous to the community of Cody—from the hospital, to the Boy Scout camp, and to the museums of the Buffalo Bill Center of the West. Bob includes the history of Coe Lodge, bought by W.R. Coe from Buffalo Bill himself. The property included hundred of thousands of acres, which also encompassed the Hoodoo Ranch, which was managed by E.V. Robertson and eventually sold to him.
These illustrated presentations have become so popular that we are introducing a slight modification. As an added perk of your Center membership, members can register for free and enjoy priority seating. Paid Center visitors can also register for free. While non-members and walk-ins are always welcome, they must also register and pay a nominal fee of $10, which supports our speaker programming. Register at tickets.centerofthewest.org.
