Winterfest Family Fun Day at BBCW
Next week, the Buffalo Bill Center of the West invites families to a Winterfest Family Fun Day and awaken from their winter slump on Friday, February 21, from 3:30 – 6 p.m. Participants can drop in anytime during those hours to find wintry-themed activities throughout the Center’s museums.
If you are one of the first 150 participants to arrive, you can enjoy a complimentary meal starting at 4:30 p.m.
The Family Fun Day is put on by the Center’s Interpretive Education Department and coordinated by Interpretive Specialist Luke Deurmier, who says, “At this annual cure for cabin fever, expect some fun, winter-themed crafts, and hands-on activities.”
The event promises creative craft stations, exciting human-powered sports demonstrations, a fascinating animal adaptations activity, and a frosty scavenger hunt. Participants can capture the memories at a photo booth and cozy up for story time with the Park County Public Library.
The birds of the Center’s Draper Museum Raptor Experience—peregrine falcon Hayabusa and turkey vulture Suli—will be in attendance to teach guests why their wild counterparts leave this area for the winter and come back in the spring.
Thanks to support from the R. Harold Burton Foundation, Winterfest is free for Buffalo Bill Center of the West members and just $20 for non-member families. Tickets for non-member families can be purchased online at tickets.centerofthewest.org or at the door upon arrival.
