The Faces of Cody: Tony & Angela Schenk

May 2, 2025

If you’ve ever met Tony and Angela Schenk, owners of “The Pig and the Hog” food truck and catering, you already know what incredible community builders they are. When you ask about the secret to their success in Cody since they launched in November of 2022, an authentic humility and hard-working spirit shines through. They talked fondly about connecting with their local regulars and the true enjoyment of meeting new folks too.

Tony, Angela, and their now 18-year-old daughter Mya moved to Cody in 2021. Two years prior to their move, they lived in Schladming, Austria working for a Christian ministry called “Torchbearers International” at the Tauernhof Campus. Schladming lies between the majestic Tauern and Dachstein mountain ranges in the Austrian Alps. This picturesque resort town is one of the biggest ski resorts in Europe, and Tauernhof’s campus borders the base of a World Cup ski area. Tony teaches leadership and discipleship at Torchbearers International in Austria during certain times of year. He spends part of his time promoting the growth of the Christian individuals – spiritually, mentally and physically. He additionally contributes as a ski instructor and as a mountain guide while he is there.

COVID made it difficult for them to continue to work and live fulltime in Austria. So, they made the decision to move themselves and their daughter Mya back to the United States. Tony still travels back and forth to Austria in 2025. The freedom of a food truck and very little overhead made developing The Pig and The Hog business an ideal win for this amazing family.

Blending Talents

However, Tony is no stranger to the restaurant industry. For many years in Denver, Colorado he worked in a well-known themed steakhouse as the sales trainer and manager. Angela has a variety of business expertise as well. She has a background in bookkeeping and HR management with several companies nationwide. With their combination of talents, it makes the perfect winning team. Tony grabs his ski instructor long johns for the blustery12 degree Cody, Wyoming winter days in the food truck and Angela stays diligent scheduling locations in advance and maintaining the books.

As owners of The Pig and the Hog, their sole aim is to offer creative, unique delicious pork. But it is so much more. They don’t smoke or BBQ their pork. They slowly cook their pork, to a mouthwatering tenderness to add as the main attraction to their many original house recipes and creations. Local favorite dishes include the “Cody Cuban”- slowly cooked pork, ham, pepper jack cheese, pickles and horseradish aioli on crisp Texas Toast and “Dirty Totchos”- Tater Tots topped with pepper jack cheese sauce, pork, jalapenos, bacon bits and house-made BBQ sauce.

Popular and Growing

To say The Pig and the Hog is popular might be a serious understatement. The food truck is currently booked with various locations around the Cody and Powell area well into late summer. Even with how busy they can get, their turnaround time for orders is equally astonishing! We won’t give away their metrics and execution, but if it were an old west gunfight, let’s just say they’d be the winner of this quickdraw.

Success and stability have allowed The Pig and The Hog food truck to fly to their next level of growth. They are excited to announce they are now accepting more catering orders for upcoming weddings and big life events! Several brides have booked with Tony and Angela already. In addition to this, local businesses and non-profits like Fremont Motors and the Cody Stampede are also utilizing The Pig and The Hog for employee appreciation and large events! Stop by and see them during the Cody Stampede at the Rodeo grounds in the evenings from June 30th-July 4th.

We’re so lucky to have high quality business owners like Tony and Angela in Cody. They model standards of hard-working excellence, outstanding camaraderie, and devoted customer service. You’ll be sure to hear more about the amazing Schenk family for years to come.
