POP! Goes the West Lunch & Lecture
Join us for a lively and thought-provoking Lunch & Lecture as we dive into POP! Goes the West, the Whitney Western Art Museum’s newest exhibition exploring the unexpected collision of Pop Art and the American West. This vibrant show, on view through January 25, 2026, features works by Andy Warhol and a range of artists who infuse Western imagery with the bold color, exciting new mediums, and visual punch of the Pop Art movement.
From comic book flare to the juxtaposition of old and new, POP! reimagines the West through a lens that is both playful and provocative. The exhibition challenges traditional ideas and offers a look at how modern culture continues to shape and reshape Western identity.

While POP! pushes the boundaries of how the West is seen and interpreted, it still draws on familiar themes that resonate across the broader Western art world. A handful of the artists featured in the exhibition also have work in this year’s Buffalo Bill Art Show & Sale, highlighting the versatility and range of creators working within the genre today. Their presence in both exhibitions speaks to the continued evolution of Western art.
Whether you are a seasoned art enthusiast or new to Western art, this Lunch & Lecture offers a fresh perspective on how the American West intersects with pop culture.
