PEAKS to Conga: A Ride with Purpose Returns for Its 15th Year

Apr 24, 2026

Cyclists, supporters, and community members are gearing up for the 15th annual PEAKS to Conga, a meaningful cycling event that benefits cancer patients in the Big Horn Basin. This fully supported, non-competitive ride spans 66 miles from Cody to Shell, Wyoming. The event raises crucial funds for PEAKS (People Everywhere Are Kind & Sharing), a nonprofit that helps cover non-medical expenses for individuals undergoing cancer treatment. Since its inception, the event has raised over $480,000 to assist local patients and their families.

About the Ride

The ride kicks off on Sunday, June 21, 2026 at 7:00 a.m. at the parking lot of Cody Coffee Roasters and Ascension FBO Network (3001 Duggleby Dr, Cody, WY), participants ride along the Greybull Highway adorned with tribute signs honoring those who have battled or are currently fighting cancer.

The finish line awaits in Shell, Wyoming, where anyone can enjoy the Shellebration! Beginning at noon, enjoy free live music by local musicians and a yoga session. Throughout the event, take part in yard games, stroll through the vendor tents, and enjoy food and beverages from 307 Pizza, Shell Bar and Shell Store. The ride is fully supported with four aid stations, and a support crew that provides mechanical and technical assistance. EMS and law enforcement are also present to ensure the safety of participants. Registered cyclists can also take advantage of free safety bike checks at Joyvagen (appointments required, call 307-527-0640).

Packet Pick-Up Riders can collect their swag bags and connect with fellow participants on Friday, June 19th, from 3-6 PM at Joyvagen Bike Shop (901 12th St, Cody, WY).

Registration & Tribute Signs

Registration for the ride is $100 (plus a $7 processing fee). Registration is open until 6pm on June 19th. Tribute signs, which line the route to honor those affected by cancer or to encourage riders to make it to Shell, can be purchased for $100 (plus a $7 processing fee). Orders for tribute signs must be placed on the website, designed, and finalized by Treasured Memories in Cody by May 29th.

The Story Behind PEAKS to Conga

Inspired by a group of motorcycle-riding women, who were raising funds for breast cancer, Laurie Stoelk and a small group of cyclists first rode the 66 miles from Cody to Shell 13 years ago. The event has since grown, attracting riders who support the cause. This annual tradition continues to honor lives touched by cancer while uniting the community in kindness and sharing.

Our Mission & Impact

PEAKS to Conga is more than just a ride—it’s a testimony to the power of community. Each year, the event raises $30,000 to $35,000 to help cancer patients across Park, Big Horn, Washakie, and Hot Springs counties to afford essential non-medical expenses.
