Party at the Paul Stock Estate to Support Park County Search & Rescue
On Friday, August 29, you can help Park County Search and Rescue (PCSAR) by attending a fundraising party at the historic Paul Stock Estate. Organized by the Park County Search and Rescue Foundation, the event will feature hors d’oeuvres, a no-host bar downstairs in the Stampede Room, and live music by Kalyn Beasley. Tickets are selling fast, but a few are still left.
The Need to Raise Funds
The soirée is being held to raise funds to help rebuild their coffers after they purchased $12,000 in needed communications equipment. The equipment allows them to talk air-to-ground when using the helicopter and ground-to-ground during emergencies.
They receive funding from the Sheriff’s office for mission costs and maintaining equipment. In addition, they are reimbursed for training on a state level. But the Park County Search and Rescue Foundation still needs to raise funds to keep the equipment up to date and replace it as needed. This year, it was the communications equipment. Soon, they will also need to replace two of the ATVs that are now 20 years old.
Volunteers Giving Back
The 36 PCSAR volunteer team members train weekly and attend various training sessions throughout the state. Most of their missions happen at night, so they aren’t often seen in action in the public eye. They have already responded to 22 calls for assistance this year alone. Last year, they responded to 35 calls, and in 2023, they were needed for 22 calls.
While Search and Rescue has equipment for missions, many volunteers purchase their own gear to do the work on the highest level possible.
Time to Party and Give to the Foundation
It’s time to give back to the volunteers who are always ready to help when things go sideways. Come to the soirée at the Paul Stock Estate and enjoy the party. Buy your tickets today!
