Marketing with Missy
Hey there, Cody! I’m Missy – Owner of Missy Burns Creative. Have you ever felt like you’re reinventing the wheel when it comes to marketing your business? It’s almost like earning a degree with the amount of research, learning, and problem solving you have to do just to make sure your business gets noticed.
I understand the struggle. I come from an entrepreneur family and have seen the good, the bad, and the ugly when it comes to starting and growing your own business.
Which is why I’ve decided to contribute to Cody Journal with a monthly marketing column to shine some light on the trends, strategies, and helpful tips you can use in your own marketing efforts.
When I started my first business, I felt so alone and left to fend for myself when it came to figuring out marketing and all the other hats we have to wear. I wish I had a genie on my shoulder that could tell me if I’m doing it right or how to go about certain things.
After the events of 2020, I nestled myself deeper into the marketing industry and grew my skills and experience. I’ve always had a passion for helping others and building community and I felt strongly that God would use my creativity and knowledge in business and marketing to fulfill that calling.
I took a job so that my family and I could move here, but quickly discovered a big need and great opportunity in this community. I left my “normal” job and took the risk to start my own marketing service. And I haven’t looked back.
Through networking and learning about this town, I’ve discovered some amazing opportunities to do exactly what I’ve been called to do: 1) building community and 2) helping small businesses thrive.
It is a pleasure to work with the amazing entrepreneurs here in Park County! I’ve been able to help our small businesses by building websites, boosting visibility through social media, helping guide start-ups with branding and strategy and so much more!
One of the things I’m most proud of is establishing the Business Brew Networking event with Janet Jones. We started that on a whim because we saw a need (again) and it has been such a fun thing to watch grow! The next one will be Aug. 1st! (Follow for more details!)
