Laughter, Love, and Cowboys: The Novels of Cassandra Joelle
“A man in Wranglers is a reminder that God gave us eyes for a reason.”
– from the novel, ‘How to Fall for a Cowboy’
Living in Wyoming, one cannot disagree with this witty quote from Cassandra’s new book. Her most recent novels, based on fictional towns in Wyoming, are full of laughter, love, faith, and small-town charm. If you have ever met Cassandra, you could describe her the same way: full of life, rooted in her faith, and always a joy to be around.
Starting at the young age of seven, Cassandra knew she wanted to be a writer. Thanks to the Scholastic Book Fair, where she bought a diary, her writing dreams started to blossom. Through school, Cassandra would write poetry and short stories, and had wonderful teachers who nurtured her writing skills.
Originally from Oregon, Cassandra ventured to Wapiti, Wyoming, where she worked a seasonal job for one of the lodges. It was there that she not only fell in love with the area but also found the love of her life. They have been married for 10 years and still reside in the Wapiti area, where they enjoy all God’s creation, from the gorgeous views to their mountaintop adventures.
Writing With Heart, Humor, and a Wyoming Backdrop
Cassandra’s first novel, “The Curse of Josephine Bagley,” was not a Romcom (romantic comedy) but a Christian Gothic Thriller. Her second novel, “A New Leash on Life,” is a fun, lighthearted ‘Dog-Mom Romcom’ full of cheer and faith-filled stories, leading to a sequel, “Fetching Love.” She has since published “The Après-Ski Proposal,” set in a fictional Wyoming town that’s a major skiing hub.
Her most recent release, “A Weather Girls Guide to Love,” is also set in a fictional Wyoming town and will grasp the heartstrings of anyone who has lived around or experienced cowboy country. Christian fiction and Christian Romcoms are not what Cassandra originally set out to write, but rather fell into her lap, and the creative juices kept flowing.
Cassandra’s newest novel, “How to Fall for a Cowboy,” was released on September 16th. She also hinted that we may be seeing another release this year inspired by her husband’s Skijoring legacy. There are not many books about Skijoring, so this is one we will eagerly anticipate!
