High Western Style at the Wild West Emporium

Jun 21, 2024

Tucked away in the Irma Hotel, you’ll find a delightful surprise in Cody, Wyoming: The Wild West Emporium. The hotel’s gift shop has transformed itself and is worth a look. After shedding its old-fashioned image, the store has emerged as an upscale boutique offering luxury Western items.
The owner of the Irma Hotel, Mike Darby, has worked in collaboration with Emporium manager Emily Blair to cultivate a unique collection of items that has revolutionized the store’s offerings. “It’s got to be fun, or we won’t carry it,” Darby says. He’s right; the Wild West Emporium is now packed with a wide range of items sure to bring a smile.

With a greater emphasis on quality and style, it’s now arguably the highest-end Western fashion store in town. It boasts a curated selection of premier brands, from Madison Creek and Scully to Morris Kay and Sons and Eleven 11. The Wild West Emporium proudly serves as one of only three retail stores that carry Eleven 11 in the United States, making the shop that much more exclusive.

The expertise of the staff at the Wild West Emporium was evident when discussing the changes. It’s best to let them explain from here.

CUSTOM JACKETS

We at the Wild West Emporium believe in crafting unique experiences and designing your dreams. That’s why, in collaboration with Morris Kay and Sons, we offer you the opportunity to design a jacket that is as unique as you. Choose the leather, furs, and designs to create an elegant Western look tailored to your taste.

This personalized look started here in Cody at the Irma’s Wild West Emporium when a woman named Christina wanted a custom jacket. We called the designer, Morris Kaye, and worked with them to create her one-of-a-kind coat. The designer loved it so much that he made it a part of his line, naming the designed jacket the Christina, and has expanded from there. Allow us to assist you in bringing your vision to life as you design your one-of-a-kind piece.

CUSTOM BOOTS

Scott Wayne, the renowned boot designer, has handcrafted custom boots for a roster of celebrities, including Tom Cruise, Clint Eastwood, Marilyn Monroe, Harrison Ford, Post Malone, Stevin Spielberg, and others. The Irma’s Wild West Emporium is one of only two retail outlets offering Scott Wayne’s boots, the other being Rockabilly’s in Texas.

Our master bootmaker is a true artisan, capable of creating custom boots that testify to his skill and your unique style. Choose from leathers such as kangaroo, alligator, stingray, buffalo, ostrich, elephant, and more. Blend those with the toe style, heel height, and more to create your one-of-a-kind boots. Your imagination, combined with the meticulous handcraftsmanship and creative flare of Scott Wayne, will fuse together to create the custom boots of your dreams.

ACCESSORIES

Complete your look with perfect accessories. We carry a wide variety of hats, jewelry, and purses, including fashion items that double as concealed-carry pieces. Silver and turquoise jewelry add a touch of Western elegance to any outfit. Our knowledgeable staff will help you select accessories that elevate your Western fashionista look.

A visit to the Wild West Emporium located in the Irma Hotel has become even more of an essential stop for locals and visitors alike. Fresh inventory arrives regularly, including a collection of jackets coming later this summer. There’s always something new to discover. Redefining the Wild West Emporium into a premier Western-style showcase has genuinely boosted Cody’s downtown. Stop by and experience it yourself, or find them with their pop-up boot shop at the Cody Stampede Rodeo July 1.
