
Knit Technique – Sock Heels
Part of a series that will focus on a variety of sock heels and toes you can incorporate in your sock knitting. New to sock knitting? Come learn from these options to help you build a sock pattern you enjoy.
DATE/TIME: April 24, 2025; 1-3pm.
Class includes: 3 types of heels- diamond style, shadow wrap, and a modified shadow wrap that accommodates a slightly larger depth from heel to top of foot
Skill level: Intermediate
Materials:
- Dk weight yarn, lighter color so you can see your stitches easily
- Circulars needles, length your preference on cable length. Needle size also your choice, 2, 2.5, 3 etc.
- 3- separately, prepared in the round tubes, in this manner:

- Cast on 40 stitches in the round, 3 rounds 2 x 2 ribbing, to prevent rolling and 3 rounds of stockinette.
- If you don’t have 3 circular needles or multiple DPNs, please place two tubes on stitch holder cords or scrap yarn ready to load onto your circular needles when the next heel is being taught
