Horsehair Pottery with Sharon Widmer

Join By Western Hands from September 17–19 for a special opportunity to create a one-of-a-kind keepsake with artisan Sharon Widmer. Sharon will be in the gallery sharing her unique horsehair pottery process.

A variety of pottery shapes and sizes will be available for purchase during the event. You are invited to bring a lock of your own horse’s hair to be fired directly into the pottery, creating a beautiful and lasting tribute to a cherished companion. For the best results, please bring long strands of hair equaling approximately the thickness of a pencil when bundled together. Other types of hair or feathers are also welcome and can be incorporated into the pottery, though they will create a different aesthetic appearance.

Sharon will demonstrate the entire firing process, making it a memorable and personal experience. Do not miss this unique chance to create a handcrafted heirloom and preserve the memory of a special animal for years to come!
