Advanced Improv Class Auditions
What’s new at MADCAP?
MADCAP Comedy & Improv Troupe was established in 2017. It opened in its new location in 2025.
After completing the Green and Brown intro classes, participants can take the Gold class which leads to a showcase performance at the end of February.
This audition is open to anyone who may be interested in taking an advanced improvisational acting course. Auditions will take place 9:00am in the Cody Public Library.
The next Green Class is scheduled to begin in February.
Auditions for MADCAP Comedy & Improv Troupe’s Murder Mystery/Longform Improvisation Production will occur at the Cody Library on January 17 @ 10:00am at the Cody Library. Please arrive early as the director has a few remarks he would like to share. Rehearsals will be February 21st and March 7th. Performance dates will be announced at auditions. Director will make contract offers at auditions. Cast members must have no conflicts with any rehearsal or performance dates.
MADCAP, a professional theatre company performing in and around the Northern Wyoming/Southern Montana with calendared performance dates in March & April, is auditioning talented and dedicated actors.
Please bring headshots and resumes, if you have them. Auditions will consist of cold readings of sides. No monologues will be needed.
This is absolutely a for pay professional acting opportunity. Pay is fifty dollars per show plus tips earned from serving guests dinner and drinks. Tips have ranged from a low of approximately thirty dollars per show to a high of two hundred dollars per show.

Murder at the Barley-Not-Grape or “Hey Porter, I’ll be Bock!” Play Synopsis:
CAST: 3 Men 3 Women
Every year, members of the Area Homebrewer’s Association (AHBA) raise a glass with President Paul Porter as he and other officers seek re-election. Unfortunately, this year, Paul Porter meets an early demise (midflight). A cast of suspects all have motives to end Paul’s platform to move AHBA in another direction. To investigate, Bret Wild, a guest homebrewer and Federal Marshal from Texas, discovers clues and interrogates the other club officers: Amber Bock (Paul’s ex-wife and AHBA Historian), Penelope Porter (Paul’s new wife and AHBA Secretary), John Stout (AHBA Treasurer), Buddy Wiser (Vice-President), and Fifi L’Blonde (owner of the Barley-Not-Grape (BNG) Brew Pub)
