Absaroka Fence Initiative Fence Workday
Join the Absaroka Fence Initiative on Saturday Sept 27th from 8:45am to noon in the YU Bench Area. We will by modifying a barbed wire fence to be more wildlife friendly for our migrating pronghorn.
When: Please arrive at 8:45am. We will start our project briefing at 9am and work until around noon. We are providing lunch after the workday!
Where: 44.411837, -108.819290
Directions: Out of Cody, head east on Highway 14-16-20 for about 8 miles. Turn right onto county road 3FK/3JU (the YU Bench road). Stay on the road 3JU for roughly 6 miles. At 44.418253, -108.821512 (where the AFI signs/flagging will be) turn right right onto a dirt road. About half a mile down that road will be our fence meeting spot.
Wear good work shoes or boots, long sleeves and pants, and work gloves. Gaiters can help protect legs in sagebrush. Please bring water bottles. If you have fence tools, feel free to bring them (additionally tools will be provided).
All are welcome to come—this is a family-friendly event for all ages and experience levels. This event is open to anyone.
