Cody’s 2025 Music Scene Crescendos

Jun 27, 2025

The stage lights illuminate heartfelt, gritty, and often hilarious songs. Have you heard the melodic echoes throughout the Bighorn Basin? The talents of Cody, Wyoming’s local and invited musicians are growing as many places have long supported the thriving music scene. While others seem to be catching up on adding LIVE music to their offerings. It is summer in the high desert, but even in the winter months, music can be heard at various restaurants, hotels, theatres, bars, and other venues around our little mountain town not too far from Yellowstone National Park.

Original Songs

Songs heard so far this summer are from a cowgirl, who sang an original captivating song about her well-built guitar in memorial of recently passed guitar luthier, Anton Lehman. “Over the Next Ridge”, a great original country ballad about elk hunting for the ultimate elusive distant bull bugle, sang by newcomer Tanner Laws from Livingston, MT at Blanca Tatanka, wowed the crowd.

Musician: Kalyn Beasley

Cody’s very own, nationally recognized, Kalyn Beasley is rolling out his newest album singles “Had to Go There” released in April 2025 and “Ranchin’ Rich” featuring Ned Ledoux coming out June 27th, 2025. In “Had to Go There”—to get here, Beasley’s upbeat rockin’ cowboy lyricism hits the soul deeply with his truthful storytelling. Each masterfully written line and note will find its listener relating to our own paths of contentment when we’ve walked hard roads and ‘been in bad shape or in dire straits’. The singular line of ‘I tripped and fell over my tongue. My own words, cut my throat like a mutineer’, is just a taste of his lyrical genius.

Erika Quick, of Quick Draw Productions filmed Kalyn’s newest original song video releases. She has artfully depicted a genuine reflection of his day-to-day laid-back western roots in Wyoming. His connection with words is a daily fixture in his life. Kalyn is also a co-owner to our beloved local Legend’s Bookstore, where he encouragers readers to pick up the next lauded national and local authors works. Make sure to catch Kalyn’s next local performance, July 3rd from 12:00 pm-2:00 pm at Blanca Tatanka in Cody after the Stampede Parade.
