McCracken Research Library Bison Book Club

Join the McCracken Research Library for a special Bison Book Club discussion of Blood Memory: The Tragic Decline and Improbable Resurrection of the American Buffalo by Dayton Duncan and Ken Burns. This compelling work explores the remarkable story of the American bison—from near extinction to one of the greatest conservation success stories in history.
Written as a companion to the acclaimed PBS documentary The American Buffalo, Blood Memory draws on firsthand accounts, historical records, and expert interviews to trace the bison’s profound influence on the North American landscape and the people who depended upon it.
