Marlboro Man Program and Discussion on the Cigarette Tax
The Cody Library will host Park County Archivist Robyn Cutter for a presentation on the history of the Marlboro Man on Tuesday, September 16, at 1:00 p.m. in Grizzly Hall.
The program will feature a 25-minute film, “The Marlboro Story,” followed by a discussion led by Cutter. The presentation will explore the history of Darrell Winfield, the Wyoming rancher who portrayed the Marlboro Man for more than two decades and became one of the most iconic advertising figures of the 20th century. Cutter will also highlight Winfield’s ties to Park County and the broader Wyoming community.
In addition, the program will address the cigarette tax and its lasting impact on Cody and Park County.
This event is free and open to the public.
