August 4–15, 2025 | Monday–Saturday, 9 a.m.–6 p.m.
Draper Natural History Museum

The Draper Natural History Museum welcomes back Lee Post—The Boneman—for a special two-week residency this August. From August 4 to 15, visitors can witness science in action as Lee, along with Draper staff and volunteers, articulates the skeleton of a 3-year-old male bison, building it bone-by-bone right on the museum floor.

Based in Homer, Alaska, Lee Post has spent over 30 years articulating skeletons of whales, moose, wolves, sea turtles, and more. His articulated specimens appear in exhibits across five states and three countries. He also teaches Marine Mammal Articulation each fall at the University of Alaska Fairbanks and authored ten books on animal skeleton preparation and articulation.

This hands-on project offers a rare chance to experience skeletal reconstruction up close. Visitors can observe daily progress and interact with the team as they piece together this iconic Western species.

Don’t miss this engaging, educational event with one of the most creative minds in natural history!
