The Story Behind the Artwork: FrostKeeper
It was several degrees below zero on this particular morning, with a thick layer of hoarfrost on everything. Seeing this through the window, I bundled up like the kid on “A Christmas Story,” grabbed my camera, and went out to feed. Our Scottish Highland cow was at the bottom of the draw and heard my feet crunching in the snow, so she headed right up for some hay and Cattle Cubes covered with Frost. Her roundness from pregnancy shows well against the late spring snow.
On the day before this cow was due to calve, it was a normal morning of getting ready for the day. My husband left for work, but slowed down and stopped next to the barn to check the cow. A few seconds after he left, my phone rang. He told me to get down there, we have twins! Well, I thought he was pulling my leg until I got down there to take a look for myself. Sure enough, we got two beautiful baby Scottish Highland calves, the little girl still very wet. What a blessing indeed!

I started out my photography journey with rodeo photography. I shot all kinds of rodeos, from Jr. Rodeos to Extreme Bulls events. From the time I was a little girl however, I watched every Wild Animal show I could find on TV, and I was obsessed with horses. I guess you could say nothing has changed. I moved to this photographers paradise that is Wyoming in 2010, and fell in love. It feels like I live in a zoo, with the variety of wildlife all around me. My favorite things to photograph are Bears, Moose, Bison and Elk just to name a few, and I also love to photograph the beauty of Landscapes. I feel so Blessed to get to capture some of the beauty that God created for us to enjoy. Follow me on Facebook and Instagram.
