DESCRIPTION:The Rangers are a Lowell Indiana based 5 piece band playing Country Rockin’\, Honky Tonkin’\, Texas Country music!  With 4 albums\, 5 singles\, their goal is to “bring country music back to its roots!” The band is currently touring and has headlined venues like Cactus Jack’s in Phoenix AZ\, The Law Office Music Hall in Yorkville\, IL\, The Phoenix Saloon in New Braunfels\, TX\, And Carol’s Pub in Chicago\, IL.\nOrigins & Discography\nThe Rangers hail from Lowell Indiana and have been writing and playing their original music since right around 2021\, and haven’t quit since. The band currently has three albums released; the first (The Bayou) being a swampy voodoo album inspired by artists like Charlie Daniels\, Jerry Reed\, and all the old timey delta blues artists from the 30s and 40s. The second album (Way Of The West) is a an epic\, Wild West\, southern rock tale inspired by the likes of Ennio Morricone’s scores\, Marty Robbin’s cowboy ballads\, and some good ol’ fashioned rock n’ roll. Fast forward to the band’s 3rd album “Roll The Dice”; a twangy\, honky Tonkin’\, hell raisin’ country album about rolling the dice on life\, and various day to day struggles\, couched in Vegas casino themes.\nInfluenced by artists like Waylon Jennings\, and Merle Haggard as well as some newer artists including Jesse Daniel\, Silverada\, Charley Crockett\, and The Shootouts\, The Rangers plan to continue their vision for bringing country music back to it’s roots\, with their brand new album “Cowboy In A Bottle”\, chock full of steel guitar\, fiddle\, horns and good Ol’ honky tonk twang! They have returned to the road post-pandemic stronger than ever and determined to bring their fusion of Celtic and rock music to as many people as they can. \nThe band is Keith Roberts (vocals / guitar)\, Chas Waltz (Violin\, keys\, vocals)\, Justin Pecot (guitar\, vocals)\, Dave Ingraham (drums) and Ethan Jones (bass guitar). With a batch of incredible new songs and an undeniable energy\, the band is excited to bring their show to festivals\, theaters and clubs around the world. \n“We want to be the band who reminds the world how important a good gig can be to our sanity after what we’ve all been through\,” says Roberts. \nFor only the second time the band is looking to its fans to finance the album instead of a traditional record company. \n“The business has changed so much over our lifetime that it no longer makes sense for us to take money from a label and then owe it all back\,” adds Roberts. “Making all our supporters co-producers is a far more rewarding way to make a record and allows us to maintain control all the way”. \nThe Young Dubliners have released nine albums to date. The Irish influence is certainly there\, but it’s not the only influence that bursts through on their albums or live shows. After all\, several of the band members have no Irish roots of any kind. \n“That was always the idea\,” Roberts said. “The sound was intended to be a hybrid because we all come from different backgrounds. Even though I am from Ireland\, a lot of the music I listened to growing up wasn’t Irish at all\, but when I got here\, I got homesick and developed a new appreciation for Irish Music. In truth the Celtic riffs can just as easily come from the American band members. DESCRIPTION:The life of a singer-songwriter is truly a dichotomy: half swaggering troubadour sweeping into town and onto a spotlit stage\, and half the unseen tribulations of a nomadic life and its effects on relationships and those closest to us. In a way\, Danno Simpson was born into this life\, immersed in music from a young age by a family with wanderlust. The constantly revolving cast of characters and backdrops provided the experiences that fill simpson expertly crafted songs and created a familiarity and comfort with the spontaneity and uncertainty that permeate the music industry.\nDanno’s musical journey has progressed from a lifelong appreicaton of the holy trinity of Texas Songwriters (Townes\, Guy\, and Jerry Jeff) and the Rock & Roll sesnisbilites of the late 1990’s and early 2000’s Alt-Country scene\, gaining steam in the underground punk house show circut throughout Colorado and finally exploding onto the growing Alt-Country/Americana scene in 2020 with the release of his self produced debut EP “Honest Work”. With follow-up singles and EPs in 2022\, 2023\, and 2024\, the raucous and dedicated following to his original music has allowed the opportunity to share stages with artists including Wilco\, The Steelwoods\, Red Clay Strays\, 49 Winchester\, Dylan Gossett\, and more. All the while crisscrossing the nation\, making fans wherever he goes\, be it an intimate acoustic performance or a full-fledged rock show.\nThe hard work and dedication to his craft that Simpson credits as his key to success are paying dividends in both his live show and recordings\, with a full-length album planned for release in the summer of 2025 and a calendar increasingly full of live performances. While the path to success in music is not an easy one\, and can be defined in many different ways\, the steadfast progress and honest production style that have exemplified Danno’s career set the course for years of cathartic and catchy songs that continue to grow and evolve as he does. \n\nCody Journal advertisers make this calendar possible.
