DESCRIPTION:The Wyoming Game and Fish Department will conduct six open-house meetings throughout the Big Horn Basin and one final meeting in Cody to discuss 2024 hunting season proposals for small game\, game birds and big game. \nDuring the open houses\, Game and Fish personnel will be available to discuss the proposed 2024 hunting seasons for local hunt areas. DESCRIPTION:CODY – The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is offering an aquatic invasive species (AIS) watercraft inspection training course for members of the public in Cody April 13. The training allows watercraft owners to inspect their own watercraft and for fishing and boating-related businesses to offer inspections for their customers. \nThe training will provide the skills necessary for participants to inspect their own or other watercraft to be used in Wyoming to prevent the spread of aquatic invasive species such as zebra or quagga mussels\, invasive plants and several other species. The training includes information on basic biology\, current distribution of AIS\, impacts and transport vectors. The course includes classroom instruction\, a question and answer session and a hands-on watercraft inspection exercise. \nThe training will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 13 at the Game and Fish Cody Regional Office at 2 Tilden Trail. The training is free\, but registration is required. DESCRIPTION:Weather-permitting\, Beartooth Highway (US-212) from Red Lodge to Cooke City\, Montana\, projected to open June 1 \nHighway currently open for 19 miles from Red Lodge\, Montana to Vista Point\nWeather-permitting\, the Beartooth Highway (US-212)\, located east of the park’s Northeast Entrance between Red Lodge\, Montana\, and Cooke City\, Montana\, is projected to open in its entirety Saturday\, June 1. \nCurrently\, the highway is partially open for 19 miles from Red Lodge\, Montana\, to Vista Point.\nCrews are working hard to plow through wet\, heavy snow that is approximately 6 feet deep on the highway. \nThe highway was originally scheduled to open May 24 but has remained closed due to a significant storm that brought winter weather conditions\, significant snowfall and hazardous driving conditions.\nOnce the highway opens\, temporary travel restrictions or closures can occur at any time without notice.
