DESCRIPTION:Cody Youth Climbing Camp\nOur Cody Youth Climbing Camp is open to youth of all backgrounds who live in northwest Wyoming and want to explore the amazing rock climbing resources in their backyard. This educational climbing camp focuses on three main learning objectives: safety\, sustainability\, and supportiveness. Safety is our first priority as participants learn the fundamentals of climbing safety systems and technique they climb outdoors west of Cody. Sustainability is also very important as we place great emphasis on teaching Leave No Trace practices to help participants become more sustainable users of this pristine resource. We also work hard to foster a supportive learning environment for participants to feel included\, valued\, and part of a team that works together. This camp is physically and mentally challenging but highly rewarding as participants learn new skills\, explore a beautiful place\, and have a lot of fun!\nDates \nSession 1: June 10-13\, 2024\nSession 2: July 8-11\, 2024 \nLocations\nSelect locations near Cody and Wapiti\, Wyoming \nAges\n10-18 years old \nPrice\n$300 ($75 deposit at sign up\, remainder due two weeks before camp). This includes gratuity for the guides working the camp. \nAvailability\n12 spots per camp \nTransportation and logistics\nDue to our insurance policy we do not provide transportation for this camp. We will meet participants near Cody or Wapiti each day of the camp for drop off and pickup. \nDaily schedule\nDrop off in the Cody or Wapiti area will be at 8am and pickup will be at 2pm. \nLessons and curriculum\nThis educational climbing camp includes hands-on lessons tailored to introductory youth climbers on the following topics:\nClimbing safety systems including knots\, belaying\, and rappelling\nClimbing movement and specialized techniques\nLeave No Trace and “Beyond Leave No Trace” practices\nLessons on the area’s geology\, ecology\, archaeology\, and history\nClimbing games and fun outdoor learning activities \nEquipment\nWe provide all of the following technical climbing equipment at no extra cost:\nClimbing shoes\nHarness\nHelmet\nBelay device and locking carabiner\nWe do not provide food\, water\, backpacks\, clothing\, or hiking shoes for participants. \nSigning up\nWe require a $75/participant deposit to reserve your spot in the camp. DESCRIPTION:Cody Youth Climbing Camp\nOur Cody Youth Climbing Camp is open to youth of all backgrounds who live in northwest Wyoming and want to explore the amazing rock climbing resources in their backyard. This educational climbing camp focuses on three main learning objectives: safety\, sustainability\, and supportiveness. Safety is our first priority as participants learn the fundamentals of climbing safety systems and technique they climb outdoors west of Cody. Sustainability is also very important as we place great emphasis on teaching Leave No Trace practices to help participants become more sustainable users of this pristine resource. We also work hard to foster a supportive learning environment for participants to feel included\, valued\, and part of a team that works together. This camp is physically and mentally challenging but highly rewarding as participants learn new skills\, explore a beautiful place\, and have a lot of fun! \nDates\nSession 1: June 10-13\, 2024\nSession 2: July 8-11\, 2024 \nLocations\nSelect locations near Cody and Wapiti\, Wyoming \nAges\n10-18 years old \nPrice\n$300 ($75 deposit at sign up\, remainder due two weeks before camp). This includes gratuity for the guides working the camp. \nAvailability\n12 spots per camp \nTransportation and logistics\nDue to our insurance policy we do not provide transportation for this camp. We will meet participants near Cody or Wapiti each day of the camp for drop off and pickup. \nDaily schedule\nDrop off in the Cody or Wapiti area will be at 8am and pickup will be at 2pm. \nLessons and curriculum\nThis educational climbing camp includes hands-on lessons tailored to introductory youth climbers on the following topics:\nClimbing safety systems including knots\, belaying\, and rappelling\nClimbing movement and specialized techniques\nLeave No Trace and “Beyond Leave No Trace” practices\nLessons on the area’s geology\, ecology\, archaeology\, and history\nClimbing games and fun outdoor learning activities\nEquipment\nWe provide all of the following technical climbing equipment at no extra cost:\nClimbing shoes\nHarness\nHelmet\nBelay device and locking carabiner \nWe do not provide food\, water\, backpacks\, clothing\, or hiking shoes for participants. \nSigning up\nWe require a $75/participant deposit to reserve your spot in the camp.
