SUMMARY:Flushing Flow Scheduled in Shoshone River
DESCRIPTION:CODY- The Wyoming Game and Fish Department would like to make sportspersons and recreationists aware of sizable increases in water flows in the Shoshone River below Buffalo Bill Dam April 8-11 as part of a flushing flow project.\nThe Bureau of Reclamation has scheduled this flushing flow at the request of Game and Fish and in coordination with Willwood Workgroup Two.  Willwood Irrigation District\, in coordination with Willwood Workgroup Two\, is planning a controlled elevated release of sediment from Willwood Dam April 9. \nThe purpose of the increased flows from Buffalo Bill Dam is to help protect the fishery by transporting the sediment released from behind Willwood Dam downstream. This increased flow is expected to improve conditions throughout the Shoshone River. The sediment release and increased flow are being coordinated to minimize impacts to irrigators\, recreationists and aquatic life in the Shoshone River. \nCody Calendar advertisers make this calendar possible. \n\nCody Journal advertisers make this calendar possible.

SUMMARY:Octane and Grit
DESCRIPTION:Every season we try to bring women sledders from all walks of life to the backcountry of Cooke City\, MT for a weekend of fun. \nThis FREE event is here to encourage women\, help them continue to become more independent riders and find other women within the industry to bond with on the snow. \nWe reserve the right to ask those who aren’t positive\, encouraging to others or safe in the backcountry to be excused from the ride. \nBeacons\, shovels\, probes\, and 2-way radios are required to attend this ride. \nThis is a ride at your own risk ride! We do have a very organized crew that have nothing but your safety and care in mind. We have multiple Avy 1&2 trained riders with us during this event. We have ladies in the medical field or with medical training that are always there to help with any kind of situation. \nHost Contacts: Kristen Yates & Jessica Carter\nYou can reach us through Facebook Messenger with any questions \n\nCody Journal advertisers make this calendar possible.
