DESCRIPTION:The Wyoming High School Activities Association and the Wyoming Music Educators Association are pleased to provide a high quality rehearsal and performance opportunity for students through All-State Honor Band\, Orchestra\, and Choir.\nGENERAL INFORMATION\n2026 All-State Audition Material will released on September 1st\, 2025\n \n1. To audition for All-State honor groups\, students must: \nBe in grades 9-12 only.\nApply through the appropriate school music teacher.\nBe enrolled in a school group corresponding to the All-State group for which they apply unless an appropriate group does not exist.\nBe a member school of WHSAA (including home schools).\nBe enrolled both at the time of application AND at the time of the All-State event.\nMeet WHSAA eligibility requirements for state events.\nBe chosen by recorded auditions. \n2. Audition Procedures and Instructions: \nAudition applications and the materials will be available on the WMEA website on Monday\, September 1st.\nEach student must complete an ONLINE REGISTRATION.\nIf auditioning for more than one ensemble\, a separate audition account must be created using a DIFFERENT email address.\nRegistration closes Monday\, October 27th\, 11:59:59 PM. No registrations are accepted after the registration window closes.\nLINK TO ALL-STATE REGISTRATION SITE\nNew to All-State Registration? DESCRIPTION:Our Cody Youth Climbing Camp is open to youth of all backgrounds in northwest Wyoming who want to explore the amazing rock climbing resources in their backyard. This educational climbing camp focuses on three main learning objectives: safety\, sustainability\, and being supportive partners. Safety is our first priority as participants learn the fundamentals of climbing safety systems and technique they climb outdoors west of Cody. Sustainability is also very important as we place great emphasis on teaching Leave No Trace practices to help participants become more sustainable users of this pristine resource. We also work hard to foster a supportive learning environment for participants to feel included\, valued\, and part of a team that works together. This camp is physically and mentally challenging but highly rewarding as participants learn new skills\, explore a beautiful place\, and have a lot of fun!\nDates:\nSession 1: June 8-10\, 2026\nSession 2: July 13-15\, 2026\nLocations:\nSelect locations in Shoshone Canyon near Cody\, Wyoming\nAges:\n9-16 years old\nRate:\n$275 ($100 deposit at sign up\, remaining balance due two weeks before camp). This includes gratuity for the guides working the camp.\nTransportation and logistics:\nWe do not provide transportation for this camp. DESCRIPTION:We are pleased to announce that the speaker for the annual banquet being held on Saturday\, July 11\, 2026\, at 6:00 pm will be Hunter Old Elk.  Hunter Old Elk is the curator at the Plains Indians Museum at the Buffalo Bill Center of the West.  Her presentation title is “Beauty and Function: Plains Indian Rifle Cases and Gun Stock War Clubs.”  She will discuss how Indigenous creators adapted rifle cases and gun stock war clubs for personal uses. \nIn addition to Hunter’s presentation\, we will present awards to those who attended the show with educational displays and hold our annual prize raffle.  Tickets are $50.00 each and are available through the WACA Office by calling 406-285-3722 (M-F 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST).  Payment can be made by check or credit card no later than June 29\, 2026.  Only unsold tickets will be available at the Cody Show. \n\nCody Journal advertisers make this calendar possible.
