DESCRIPTION:DRAWING: Still Life and Figures – with Paul Kethley. Sat.\, Feb. 15. 9am to noon. In this class we will split time between drawing Still Life subject matter and then Figure drawing in order to expose and educate you in both drawing practices as well as gauge interest for future drawing classes. Students will practice basic drawing exercises with still life objects during the first half of class then switch to Life Drawing with a live character model for the second half. Model will do a series of short poses with a longer one near the end of class. All abilities welcome. Students will do many practice drawings – some\, very quick timed sketches\, but should not expect to produce finished-looking work. They are free to take photos of subjects and complete at home if desired.\nExpect live demonstrations by instructor. DESCRIPTION:For February’s Ages 10 & Up Crafternoon — We will be doing watercolor tiles with a twist on Friday\, February 21st at 1 p.m. at the Powell Library! \nThe twist is that we will be making the watercolor pattern using alcohol ink on a ceramic tile and be using a heat source to ‘fire’ the ink which causes the colors to set and create unique designs.\nThis program is open to those aged 10 & up and free supplies provided for those who attend. Supplies may be limited and are distributed on a first come\, first serve basis. \nThe Powell Library is located in Homesteader Hall at the Park County Fairgrounds\, 655 E. 5th St.\n*** Please note that the Powell Library is not doing any sort of late registration\, accepting of vendor applications\, reserving tables for bookings\, etc. for this event. DESCRIPTION:Join local artist Sarah Shearer on Fridays from 2:00-3:00pm to explore art! During these sessions\, students will dive into fundamental elements of design\, such as line\, shape\, color\, and texture. Students will discover how these elements work together to create art though engaging projects.\nEach project will be inspired by the Center’s museums with the students observing real-world examples of art to gain a deeper understanding of design elements.
