DESCRIPTION:Join Buffalo Bill Art Show & Sale scratchboard artist\, Sally Maxwell\, for Colorful Canvases! This educational class provides beginner to advanced artists personalized instruction and fellowship with returning BBAS artist\, Sally Maxwell.\nSally has been working in Scratchboard for over 58 years\, 53 of those using color in the medium. The International Society of Scratchboard Artists as well as the American Women Artists have recognized her as a Master. She is also a Signature member of the Society of Animal Artists. She was appointed to the Board of Directors of AWA in 2024. She has won numerous awards in multiple Museum and juried art shows nationally. Recently she won the Award of Excellence in the AWA annual show\, and was the highest priced bid at BBAS for “Nuance” in 2024. Through her close association with Ampersand Art Materials\, she has taught a generation of artists how to use the medium. Currently her artwork was featured in the Society of Animal Artists show in 2024 and will be again in 2025. She will be shown in the annual juried show with AWA for 2025 as well. She was shown in the Briscoe Museum’s show “Night of Artists” this year. Once you have seen her work up close\, you will never forget it. \nReservations Required. DESCRIPTION:Who is ready to do some Flower Pounding for October’s All Ages Crafternoon?\nAnd yes this is the name of this dying technique — — we will be creating our own floral designs by pounding a flower with a hammer to transfer the natural pigment of the flower onto a flour sack towel!!\nIf your interested in attending\, please bring a hammer and/or rubber mallet at 1 p.m. on Friday\, October 3rd to the Park County Fairgrounds. Please note that this will be a loud craft so please feel free to also bring some ear protection.\nWe will have flower cuttings available with special thanks to the City of Powell who is donating the flowers they are removing from the city’s flower beds. But if you have a particular flower you are found of growing at home\, however\, please feel free to bring flower cuttings.\nThe address for the Park County Fairgrounds is 655 E. 5th St.\nAll supplies will be provided for those who attend this free program open to all ages. \n\nCody Journal advertisers make this calendar possible.
