Happy Wednesday, Journal Tribe!

It's Mother's Day this weekend - and that means it's also the Cody Horse Sale at Jake Clark Mule Days on Friday with the auction on Saturday at the Irma. And there's much more happening.

This week was the start of the Wyoming Property Tax Refund Program - stop by the Park County Courthouse if you need help filling out your forms.

Thursday: Head to the Buffalo Bill Center of the West at noon for a talk - Following the Herd: How the Social Lives of Buffalo Shape the Prairie. The Powell Elks Lodge will hold a Mother’s Day Sip & Paint that lets you create a homemade gift. In the evening, head to Wynonna Thompson Auditorium for Masterpieces of Ballet or head to the Colonel for Club/Merengue Dance Classes.

Friday: Join in on an Art Workshop at the Draper, celebrate at NWC with the Nurses Pinning Ceremony, and the Little Red Truck Cottage Market starts in the evening over at the Auditorium and will also happen all day on Saturday. Advantage Rehab is offering a Free Bike Fitting for those ready to hit the trails and roads this summer, and the American Legion in Powell will have their Battle for the North Fundraiser Cornhole Tournament that begins in the evening and continues through Saturday.

Saturday: If you're heading downtown for the horse sale, also browse the shops as there's also a ‘Saddle Up Spring’ Stroll happening. At the Game & Fish office, there's a Community Fly Fishing Fair you won't want to miss, and there's the Northwest College Commencement Ceremony. Heart Mountain Bar and Grill hosts the WYO Hoofbeats Fundraiser Paint Party, the Figure 8 Races happen over at the fairgrounds. And at the Wynonna Thompson Auditorium, enjoy the 28th Annual Spring Production by Rocky Mountain School of the Arts/Dance Theatre both Saturday and Sunday nights.

Sunday - Mother's Day: There are many brunches happening in town and reservations are suggested for most. The weekend wraps up at the Chamberlin Inn with Aliyah Stanger gracing the courtyard/conservatory for Songwriter Sundays.

Happy Mother's Day to all the ladies out there! Enjoy your weekend!
